Scottish rockers The Ninth Wave grace Newcastle this Saturday 9th November to kick off their headline UK tour.

This run of shows pre-empts the release of part two of their debut album Infancy – a record long awaited by followers of the dark wave band. Part one, which dropped this past April, gave fans a taste of The Ninth Wave’s well-established morbid techno riffs and haunting vocals from duo-singers Millie Kidd and Haydn Park-Patterson.

A Wave Goodbye to the People Who Said I’d Win is admittedly a bit of a mouthful, but this alt. rock ballad of desperation hooks your attention from the outset with a twinkling melody set against synth drumbeats. Used To Be Yours, driven by Kidd’s harmonious vocals, demonstrates their ability to not just to make filthy, dark songs, but to also put out tracks which are subtle and heart-breaking in tone. November 15th will see the release of the record, which will undoubtedly feature more of their iconic 80s electronica tinged rock. Anyone seeking a preview of this upcoming release should be sure to make it to their live show.
