Promising a revelatory experience with their new hush-hush event, we’re predicting the Tyneside Bar Café’s Speakeasy Cinema will become one of those must-attend events in Newcastle.
Taking their cues from the underground secrecy and glamour of the 1920s speakeasy, the new monthly event – the first of which will take place on Wednesday 27th April – sees some of the best international cinematic talent paired with a positively Oscar-winning menu from celebrated chef Tom Adlam.
The film will be kept secret until the night, but given the reputation the Tyneside has for screening cutting-edge international cinema, we’re confident it’ll be all killer, no filler. “We’re picking the best movies from over a century of cinema.” Says events programmer and producer Craig Puranen Wilson, “think Truffaut, Kurasawa, Almodovar, Bergman, Fellini, Welles…”
With a unique menu complimenting the movie, fill buffs and foodies will be in equal bliss, and with tickets at a mere £15 including a drink, we advise early bookings!
