Taking a break from their bizarre world of surreal silliness to do grown up things, Newcastle comedy troupe Silly Billies are going out with a bang this month. The format of their usual highly popular monthly shows usually encompasses performances from a range of comedians, with The Order of the Silly Billies messing around in between, but for the farewell shows at Newcastle’s Alphabetti Theatre (Saturday 6th) and Middlesbrough’s Westgarth Social Club (Saturday 13th February) the Order will be taking on entertainment duties all on their lonesome, debuting their very own one hour show. Chief Billie, Jack Gardiner, explains: “You can expect food being rubbed on chests, bongos and dancing. It’ll be like a Flaming Lips concert but with jokes. They’re going to be immersive, silly and dark gigs with hopefully plenty of surprises.”

Also joining the madness at Alphabetti Theatre is support act Barnaby J Thompson, also known as The Man of a Million Voices. “He’s one of the most original and strange acts you’ll ever see,” Jack enthuses. With Middlesbrough’s event hosted by alternative comedy jamboree Heavy Petting, comedy lovers throughout the region are guaranteed an evening of strange, surreal and downright silly behaviour. Catch them now, while you can!

Silly Billies’ farewell shows take place at Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle on Saturday 6th and Westgarth Social Club, Middlesbrough on Saturday 13th February.
