The Geordie comic brings fresh political satire and surreal storytelling to Durham next month
You don’t have to be any further North to catch some punchy comedy this August! The always reliable Hilarity Bites have their usual plethora of up and coming and well-established comedic talents on hand to give you a laugh, with one such funnyman performing a couple of special shows. Rahul Kohli brings his Geordie charm, fresh and energetic political satire and staple yet surreal storytelling to two shows in Durham – Outstanding Art on Thursday 1st and The Cornerhouse, Crook on Thursday 29th August.
Rahul Kohli isn’t new to a big stage, thanks to his 2016 debut solo show Newcastle Brown Male gaining acclaim from the 2016 Fringe Fest, and BBC Radio 4 and Huffington Post also becoming huge fans of his fierce, charismatic and humble satire.
As is usual at a Hilarity Bites show, fresh and exciting names on the circuit are given equal importance. Topping the bill at the Outstanding Arts show alongside Rahul will be ‘the face of PlusNet broadband’, charismatic comic Craig Murray, and the supreme storytelling talents of Lou Conran. In Crook, Rahul will be joined by comedy natural John Gibson and grumpy gag-maker Rob Coleman.
