Celebrating the 20th anniversary this year, Ouseburn Open Studios will once again be throwing open their doors to provide us with cultural insights into Newcastle’s thriving art scene on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November.

36 Lime Street displays a varied selection of work in a variety of mediums including glass, wood, paint, prints, ceramics, text, music and jewellery, as well as becoming host to an exhibition centered on the ‘drawing?’ series. The focus on local artwork will also be continued at Mushroom Works, wherein its artists and designers will be right to hand. Similarly, Northern Print will offer practice-specific demonstrations in print making, offering the perfect opportunity to see the merging of practice and finished product.

At Jim Edwards Artists Studio Gallery the artist’s paintings and print works will be premiered; while The Biscuit Factory similarly creates something different, embracing the literary arts with the Wondering Workshop by author/illustrator Faye Hanson (creator of book The Wonder).

Continuing the literary theme, the Toffee Factory will also be holding a fantastic event, with an exhibition created by NewBridge Books. The Biscuit Tin Studios will also be in receipt of the Open Studios Weekend Pop-Up Exhibition and other sites like Cobalt Studios have decided to take a slightly different take on an open house, showing exactly what their space has to offer, utilising music, food, drink and ping pong to create creative spaces.

Ouseburn Open Studios takes place across the Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November.
