Whether it is a small indiscretion or something that has had an impact on a larger scale, most of us will have experienced a sense of shame at some point in our lives, even if the burden of shame isn’t something that we regularly discuss. Lou Sanders is bucking that trend. The comedian, who has been seen on everything from 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown to Comic Relief, is willing to share her social faux pas with a willing audience in her show Shame Pig.

Taking place at ARC, Stockton on Friday 19th April, Sanders will discuss everything from overly stabby step-mothers to an unusual sexual encounter in LA. And it won’t be cringe-worthy at all; instead, it’ll be a humorous whistle-stop ride through some messy moments. While she’s got the punch-lines to ameliorate even the most hair-raising of stories, there’s also a streak of seriousness, as she broaches her alcohol issues and more recent sobriety. Sanders’ show is set to be defined by her complete openness about all of these situations, no matter how serious or silly they may be. It’ll be a cathartic experience, but one that’s lifted by Sanders’ comedic presence and winning charisma. The real shame would be to miss it.
