If you go down to the woods today (well Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August 18th anyway) Hardwick Live is returning for its fifth instalment with the usual mix of up and coming talent and musical legends at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield, County Durham.
On the Saturday Kaiser Chiefs head the line-up with a little help from US rhythm and blues honchos Vintage Trouble, indie kings Ash and ex-Scissor Sister Jake Shears. Rascalton and Social Room add a slice of indie cred, while Danny Rampling and Brandon Block man the decks. Sunday’s top order reads like a Shine On line-up with Happy Mondays, Shed Seven, Echo & The Bunnymen and Feeder entertaining the crowds. For those into something a little heavier Public Image Ltd., provide welcome respite from indie singalongs, and the omnipresent Smoove & Turrell, local heroes Detroit Social Club and Dennis will also be cracking the boards.
With music spread over two stages, the family-friendly event also boasts all manner of diversions, from face painting to vintage fairground attractions and a range of foodie fun.
