From Saturday 9th February, Abject Gallery in Newcastle hosts a new solo show from Icelandic artist Georg Óskar. I Felt Bat But I Fell A Little Better Now runs until Saturday 23rd March, and brings a minimalistic and free from rigid structure collection of paintings that are true to the artist’s original style and imagery.

The Berlin-based creative does not hold back when taking to the canvas and has a free-flowing use of colour, and lines that are impetuous and take you on a journey. Whether he’s capturing interesting events, or bringing to life fantasies, there’s an obvious influence of music and poetry to be found within the work.

There’s something of the everyday touched with magic, as Georg displays people and characters in their own world as well as he does otherworldly environments, which makes this a special exhibition and a true visual diary from a very distinct artistic voice.

Georg Óskar’s I Felt Bat But I Fell A Little Better Now runs from Saturday 9th February until Saturday 23rd March at Abject Gallery, Newcastle.
