After 18 months of staring at walls adventurous folk in Teesside are inviting everyone to break out and re-discover Middlesbrough. During the final two weeks of October a series of talks, walks and open days will take over the town, with history, culture, art exhibitions, family fun and a Curious Night at the Dorman Museum on offer. 

Highlights of the two week Discover Middlesbrough programme include a poetry and art trail taking landscape poet John Powls’ recent book North Sea To The East into venues across Middlesbrough, attendees are invited to check out another incredible rediscovery in Balls To The Lot of You, an autobiography written from the slums of early 20th century Middlesbrough and found recently in a cupboard by the author’s grandson and painter Sean Durkin. Festival goers can will hear more about this and so many other interesting personalities, characters, faces and places over the fourteen days of events starting on Friday 15th October.
