You may recognise him from BBC Radio’s Jesting About and captaining a team at the Alphabetti Theatre’s own wonky talent show Quest To Stardom but now comedian David Callaghan has written his own solo show and is preparing to take it to Edinburgh. No Momentum will be showing off some of his often self-deprecating but hilarious routines at the Alphabetti in preparation for his Edinburgh stint, which is likely to highlight him as a real comedy gem. You’d do well to go and have a peek at his intimate preview show at the Alphabetti before he goes stratospheric.

Support on the night comes from various acts, including Hal Branson, otherwise known as one third of sketch group Hot Gulp, who has been eagerly working on making his many internal monologues into external musings. Well, half an hour’s worth of them anyway. He wouldn’t want to bore you. The wonderfully named Sammy Tinkerbell Dobson (that’s her real name, you know) used to be an actress in Byker Grove, Casualty and The Bill but has turned her hand to comedy and is encouraging you to laugh with her at the bizarre nature of her life.

David Callaghan comes to the Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle on Tuesday 7th July.
