Together with Investing in People and Culture (IPC), Middlesbrough Institute Of Modern Art continues their monthly film nights with a modern classic on Thursday 26th May, as Selma is this month’s offering at Cinema Paradiso.

Charting the voting rights marches led by Martin Luther King in 1965, director Ava Duvernay’s drama follows the action from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama. It’s a landmark moment in modern history, and the personal stories behind it all are thought-provoking and beautifully acted. Followed by an informal conversation about the film after, there aren’t going to be many better ways to see this landmark piece of modern cinema.

Cinema Paradiso screens Selma at MIMA, Middlesbrough on Thursday 26th May.
