DJ and local music fan Karl Bavin presents Transmission, a show on Redcar & Cleveland radio station Zetland FM, which focuses on up and coming bands and musicians from across the UK. He’s teamed up with prominent Darlington record label Butterfly Effect to curate a series of download-only compilation of tracks from independent artists.

The events industry has been hit very badly due to the virus and have been largely forgotten about by the government.” Karl says, regarding his intentions behind the release. “I decided to put a series of albums out with tracks from independent artists in the hope of raising money for the people working in the events industry.” All proceeds from the releases will be donated to the #WeMakeEvents initiative.

Included on the first album, which is released on 4th September, are several tracks from artists from the North East, including Stockton-based solo ambient musician Veil; Hartlepool’s Daniel Drinkwater – aka Lost State of Dan; Teesside fuzz rockers SWEARS; industrial darkwave from Redcar’s Phage; and Saltburn’s Yellocayke; alongside artists from further afield including Tiny Magnetic Pets, Daniel Jones, Grim Lizard, Tinkers Lane and IAMWARFACE.

Downloads are free but a £2 donation is encouraged.
