After last year’s dungeon-wave masterpiece A National Day Of Mourning album, Liverpool three-piece (that’s bass/drums/bass set up in front of a wall of amps, folks) Bodies On Everest come to the region for two dates at Trillians in Newcastle on Monday 21st October, while the day before Nick Wesson’s new Church Orange project sees the band pitch up at Base Camp (the synchronicity not lost on band or organisers) in Middlesbrough.

Newcastle’s Lump Hammer provide main support in Middlesbrough with their unique take on sludgy doom, while noisy goths Penance Stare will open proceedings in enigmatic style on the back of their most recent Solanaceae album. Meanwhile, at the Trillians show Panarus Productions and Inverted Grim-Mill Recordings have roped in big riffers Friend as main support with another still to be confirmed. But it’s Bodies On Everest who promise to blow the doors off both venues with their harrowing, godforsaken riffs, white hot bass shreds and demonic percussion while occasional dalliances with death metal and low-pitch drone rock should provide some light relief.

Bodies On Everest play Base Camp, Middlesbrough on Sunday 20th and Trillians in Newcastle on Monday 21st October
