Reliably informed

Atresbandes use humour to question what it means to be an individual, or to conform. The experimental Catalan company forge an epic journey through 21st century life that encompasses dictatorships, national anthems, education, self-help manuals, nightclubs and love in pop-up show All In. It all comes as part of GIFT Festival (Gateshead International Festival of Theatre).

It all comes to Caedmon Hall at Gateshead Central Library on Friday 27th October. Appearing at first abstract, the separate scenes pull together for an underlying theme of the individual versus the mass. As the action unravels, one character reappears, an outsider to the main group who attempts to assert his independence despite the pressure to follow the crowd. Signalling a new direction in the company‚Äôs style and approach, the show uses carefully integrated lighting, soundscapes, visual effects and video to propel its protagonist through vastly different but interconnected scenarios.

The winner of numerous awards, the theatre company from Barcelona are bringing another real theatrical treat here.

All In is at Caedmon Hall, Gateshead on Friday 27th October.
