Playwrights of colour are set to be given a new, exciting opportunity in the North East through Alif, a new, independent venture. Set to provide a platform to share stories, ideas and creativity, burgeoning writers are set to be able to find their voice through this new project.

Alif will host a Writers Circle specifically for Playwrights of Colour, gearing them towards showcasing their work in a scratch night at Northern Stage. Actors of colour are required to for the scratch night on Thursday 27th September and projects beyond too. With only five places available for writers for the scratch night itself, it’s a great opportunity to develop your craft and ideas, and for more information contact with your name, contact details and what you hope to get out of being part of Alif’s Writers Circle.

This is a big opportunity that says so much about what our North East cultural scene offers up and continues to push and strive to be better. Seeing these works evolve over time will be exciting too, so being an audience for the scratch night itself is an equally exciting opportunity.
