I can say with some conviction that I think Okay Champ are the best rock band operating out of the North East at present, and perhaps one of the best in the UK.
The jet-black gallows humour that was present on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road… and William Tell is in full flow on Ticket, which the band summarise as being “about meat, but it’s largely a break-up song. A musical tantrum perhaps?” It comes across like MES fronting a metal band; despondent and humorous in equal measure.
