Sunderland rapper Tuckage joins forces with local contemporaries 90BRO and Listaa to release the brand new single, Henry Viii. This latest offering is a captivating listen, complete with low rumbling beats, sharp, ominous synths and lyrics delivered with energy and purpose.

Here, Tuckage tells us about what inspired the track…

The thing that inspired me to get the lads back over to my home studio and get working again was definitely to get some positive energy flowing as I’ve had a really tough 2 years. Mentally, I’ve struggled with life outside of music with the birth of my daughter who was born 6 weeks 3 days early after my partner was I’ll during the pregnancy, we never knew during the pregnancy that my daughter had Down syndrome, so I just wanted to try get back to putting some music out there and been positive with my life again.

From meeting Rizwan and Jamie many years ago they’ve always stayed in touch and been helpful with my journey. We never had planned to do a themed track about Henry Viii. I had bought some instrumentals a few weeks before as I’ve really wanted to kick on and try to get back to where I was with my creativity. As soon as the beat started playing, Rizwan was into writing his hooks which was amazing to see him write! The first few lines were “beheaded the stage am going Henry the eighth” and the energy in the room was mad! If only people in Sunderland supported us like they really should! Without doubt, 90BRO & Listaa are two of the best in the North-East! The way they wrote that hook and helped each other made my life easier writing my verse!
