Nat Sharp’s evening of nature fetishism is a gentle celebration of queer solidarity

Nat Sharp is one of the UK’s finest outsider artists, and serves up everything she does with a healthy dose of subversion and humour. Tonight is no different. Nat Sharp’s Eco-Sex Fun House riffs on the loose concept of a dating evening – though, irrespective of relationship status, no-one is prevented from participating as much or as little as they desire.
Here, consent is king, and the silly, irreverent approach to the games played is punctuated with respect and solidarity. The ‘eco’ dominates more than the ‘sex’ aspect of the evening, and the intention is to provoke a range of responses around nature fetishism. It’s a brave and bold set of intentions, and ultimate one which manifests itself as a gentle celebration of queer solidarity- though which everything is treated with an element of irreverence.
