Monday 4th September
ART & LIT Reading Room: Meeting the Universe Halfway @ Eagle Building, Sunderland
This exhibition sees five artists producing a special collaboration inspired by the work of philosopher-physicist Karen Barad, and offers up a ‘reading’ of Barad’s ambitious book Meeting The Universe Halfway. We spotlighted it all in an article which you can read right here.
Tuesday 5th September
STAGE Overdue @ Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle
The first show back at the newly re-launched Alphabetti is set to be a special one with this touching and funny play from Arabella Arnott. Read our full preview here.

FILM Jackie @ Arts Centre Washington
This already acclaimed film is the tale of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and the grief and trouble she goes through following the assassination of her husband, with a top performance from Natalie Portman in the eponymous role.
Thursday 7th September
STAGE NT Live: John Le Carre – An Evening with George Smiley @ ARC Stockton
A celebration of the immensely successful and talented author behind some mightily fine reads set during the Cold War including Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy.
Friday 8th September
MUSIC James Leonard Hewitson @ The Studio, Hartlepool
The utterly engaging quirky pop songwriter brings his sumptuous melodies to The Studio in Hartlepool with a full band for a show that doubles up as an EP launch.
Saturday 9th September
MUSIC Fret! @ Little Buildings, Newcastle
The Tyneside trio have had a big 2017 with a lengthy tour and debut album major highlights, catching their surfabilly-garage-hardcore hybrid within the confines of Little Buildings is a must.
Sunday 10th September
COMEDY Nick Cranston @ The Stand, Newcastle
Clever, sometimes very dark and always very funny, Cranston is one of the most underrated comics in a strong North East comedy scene, and his debut solo show Unsuitable is a fine way to spend your Sunday.
