ALBUM REVIEW: Sports Team – Gulp!

Sports Team are pretty exciting, aside from an enigmatic live show the band have an unstoppable energy about them which is infectious and was captured beautifully on the debut, Deep Down Happy.

Their follow up, Gulp!, is equally endearing. All the staples of what made the debut a rousing success have been executed again without much falter, making it a rather predictable but enjoyable release. 

Gulp! can’t help but feel less of an album and more like the latest blueprints for an explosive live show, with the new material undoubtedly crafted with a punchy and endearing live show in mind.

Without anything setting apart from their debut, it’s a pretty euphoric continuation that may not add any new flavours, but hasn’t ruined the taste.
