Since 2016 Sports Team have been scooping up young fans at a rate unseen since fours lads from Sheffield started singing about dancefloors. That ardent fanbase have now been rewarded for their patience. Whilst there’s the occasional misstep, and the baffling omission of ode to motorways M5, Deep Down Happy is destined for a spot on numerous end of year top-10s.

Live favourite Kutcher, and early single Camel Crew (inexplicably re-recorded for the album) stand out, but there’s much to recommend here. Deep Down Happy pulls off the typical Sports Team alchemy of being both bitingly cynical and relentlessly upbeat at the same time, and it’s infectious. You might start off wanting to hate them, but you will end up converted. And that suits them just fine.
