West Australia’s finest intergalactic psych rockers Pond deliver their ninth studio album, containing nine tracks aptly named 9. After four of the band’s strongest singles to date in build up to the album, it comes as no surprise that it’s an album filled with delicious grooves, blown out breakbeat drums and luscious 80s synth. Singer Nick took a more abstract approach to this record on a quest for the unimaginable, the tracks borne from extended improvised jam sessions where “true unwritable magic comes from”, and on the record it shows.

Genres spanning from rock opera right through to robotic funk come together in perfect harmony as the band have contained the chaos of the record’s fruition in a way that only Pond can.
