Jade Mia Broadhead reviews the debut album release from the Eurovision artist
Released: 15.09.23
Eurovision was cruel on Mae Muller and her catchy disco pop track I Wrote A Song deserved better.
It features here as the fourth track of sixteen, after a largely forgettable first three. And therein lies the problem. There’s a good album here, but you have to wade through too much filler to find it. Porn Lied To Us contains an important message about the dangers of instant gratification to a budding relationship whilst MTJL is an intimate confessional ballad about insecurity, but for every decent pop song there’s another like Little Bit Sad that doesn’t quite hit the mark.
Sorry I’m Late claims Mae’s debut, but if she’s to put Eurovision behind her, she needs more quality than quantity.
