Plenty has been made of the fact that Feature’s debut album is something of an epitaph, coming after their geographically disparate band members have already decided they have enough to occupy them with their other bands/projects which include Sauna Youth and Slowcoaches.

In a weird way, though, this seems to have done ‘Banishing Ritual’ a world of good, because it comes entirely unencumbered with any kind of agenda or anything to prove. It seems to exist solely for the purpose of getting these DIY punk singalongs out there, and thank fuck for that, because it would have been a true shame if the lush harmonising of ‘Prefeel’ or the meaty rework of ‘Reeling’ hadn’t seen daylight.
