Amadou and Mariam’s ninth album La Confusion is one of those albums you hear and think “Ah, so this is what’s been missing.” It just makes you feel so good.

Traditional African rhythms are mixed with disco-style synths, funk, blues and rock elements and layered with the catchiest hooks you’ve heard in a long time.

Their music seems to have created a hybrid genre that is just irresistible, and would make even the most sceptical soul head for the dance floor.

The couple have evolved from their African / blues roots to a stylistic blend that is universally appealing, unique and infectious and they are one of the rare bands that just seem to get better and better with time.
