Packed wall-to-wall, Newcastle’s NX pulsed with anticipation as fans awaited Wigan-born indie rock sensation, The Lathums. The opening riff of No Direction sliced through the air, sparking an electric energy that spread through the crowd. Say My Name ignited an arena-worthy atmosphere, while Heartbreaker transformed the venue into a euphoric chorus of voices united in song.
The Lathums thrive on stage, balancing extraordinary talent with an endearing humility. Alex Moore’s vocals embody the poetic grit of Liam Fray and Alex Turner, while Scott Concepcion’s electrifying guitar riffs, Matty Murphy’s commanding basslines, and Ryan Durran’s dynamic drumming fused into a sound that captivated the room.
An acoustic pause with How Beautiful Life Can Be and All My Life provided a tender moment before the energy erupted once again. The Jester, I See Your Ghost and Fight On set the crowd ablaze in a whirlwind of ecstatic chaos. The night reached a euphoric crescendo with the encore, closing triumphantly with Long Shadows, Stellar Cast and Sad Faced Baby.
A must-listen for fans of Courteeners and The Snuts. This wasn’t just a gig it was a visceral experience, a raw and unfiltered connection between band and fans, proving that The Lathums are far more than music; they’re a movement.
