The art rockers’ latest weaves a tale of increasing madness with some beautiful visuals
A wonderfully artistic blend of superimpositions, some beautifully shot cinematography and a story that’s steeped in paranoia, dreams and the ambitions of a small-time weatherman. It can only be a new video by everyone’s favourite art rockers Yellow Creatures. Their attest single Calendar Man might not be out officially until September but we’re already being treated to its delightful video, which is just the right amount of trippy while also managing to convey the narrative of a man driven to madness by his own ambitions.
Frontman Marc Bird, who also created the clip, explained the concept behind the video: “Calendar Man tells the story of a frustrated weather reporter whose true passion in life is long distance running. But, as this hobby slowly becomes an obsession, his grip on reality loosens.”
The clip is certainly a very intriguing way of presenting the overall concept. Plus, it has the added bonus of a cameo from legendary weatherman Michael Fish doing what he does best. It really is the best weather-based video you’ll see all year.
