Reliably informed

Whale Hill are a band who by just looking at them seem like innocent, clean-cut, young men, but when they pick up their instruments they become angsty, post-punk noisemakers that’ll stop you judging books by their cover for the rest of your life. Ahead of their show at Head Of Steam Newcastle on 28th March, the Teesside trio release their brand new video to recent single, Bloom and give us first dibs. Frontman, Reece Mallett, tells us a little more about it.

“Bloom is our 3rd single released back in November and it’s a song all about breaking away from the stresses of other peoples opinions and doing whatever makes you happy to be yourself.

This video has been an idea of ours for a while, it was filmed in Disgraceland one of the most unique spaces available in Teesside.

The music video was directed by myself and Will Gorman with the editing coming from both of us and the final edit coming from me. As for why we went for this direction and how it links with the song we just didn’t want our first music video to be the usual pretending to play the song in a warehouse vibe, so we tried to have it be as natural as possible.”
