Newcastle indie outfit, TCHOTCHKE drops the brand new video to their latest single release taken from their debut album ‘Life Gets In The Way‘. The track was recorded at the Sage Gateshead and is filled with garage rock grit, punked-up fuzz and shoegaze sensibilities, all of which are tied together with a drive-time energy that would make any journey to Barnard Castle seem effortless.

Here, frontman Leon Tighe tells us more about the track and the video, which we unveil today, as a NARC exclusive…

‘The music is loosely based on the theme of Rock & Roll music, with references to some of my favourites, like Jerry Lee Lewis, but mainly about the energy people get when they hear great music.

The song was recorded with Adam Stenhouse on drums and me playing the rest of the instruments while working at Sage Gateshead. Usually, during my lunch breaks, I’d cart all my gear into one of the recording studios and rock out with my packed lunch!

At the time, Sage’s main hall was always busy but we managed to find a time we could sneak in and record the video. Due to availability, not everyone could make it, so rather than just scrapping it, I managed to get some close friends to fill in because we never knew if we’d ever get the chance again.’
