North-East indie-rock outfit Post Rome are set to drop their brand new single, Say Too Much, on Friday 10th March. This alluring dark, poppy offering comes complete with soaring guitar hooks, danceable rhythms and impassioned, melodious vocals.
We’re delighted to be given an exclusive look at the sleek visuals that accompany it.
Here, the band tell us more about the track and the video…
“Our new track ‘Say too much’ is quite on the nose with its title. It really is just about being with someone who says next to nothing, while you find yourself talking way too much. You wanna get drunk and talk about aliens while they’re stuck just staring at the stars. The lyrics paint out this kind of romance.
We shot the video with the brilliant ‘Peter Storrie’. On the surface, it’s this very clean-cut, film studio, performance video. But the two elements we added helped us relate back to the lyrics. For starters, I’m sat on a sofa looking at the camera whilst delivering the lyrics – as though it’s a therapy session. It is almost like I’m talking at you, sharing way too much. Saying too much.
And secondly, we have a mannequin as the love interest in the video. We originally had a female actor in mind but thought actually a mannequin could make the same point if not better. Plus she was very easy to work with.”
