Building up to the release of their debut album later this year, Stockton’s metal band Nephilim unveil a suitably disturbing video for their first single, out today.

Fuelled By Hate’s ponderous rhythm and increasingly frantic riffs underpin vocalist Cal’s throaty roar, with striking guitar solos making for a dynamic sound and an impressive and assured debut from the young band.

The video’s masked figures add to the track’s edgy aura, while a sense of confinement and otherworldliness breeds paranoia and intrigue. The band explain how the track explores the often taboo subjects of abuse and hate. “The song is about a toxic relationship and the struggles that people face.” Says lead guitarist Saint James.
