Newcastle-based, one-woman orchestra of sounds, Me Lost Me dropped her excellent new single The End of The World a few weeks back. With its haunting tones, percussive deep-south twangs and ominous lyrics, sung in her distinctive, impassioned style, it’s a track that imprints it’s ominous beauty on your soul and reverberates long in your mind after listening to it.

The add a new sensory dimension to the release, Me Lost Me releases a very cinematic video to accompany the single and kindly lets us have the first look. Here, she tells us more about it…

‘The lyrics of the song ‘The End of the World’ are eerily prescient considering our current situation, despite being written in summer 2019. The video, by Adam Goodwin, was filmed in Northumberland in mid-March, the shoot being our last trip out before the lockdown. Watching it back now reminds me of eating snacks in the car as our phones were going off with notifications of cancelled events and work, a really surreal, bittersweet memory. Alys North, Adam Goodwin and myself worked together to come up with games and tasks to generate movement on location during our day wondering around the countryside, it was such a fun shoot to do! I’m so thrilled to have worked with both of them on this and am really amazed by their contributions, even the beautiful ceramic masks you see were handmade by Adam.’

Me Lost Me will be launching a crowdfunding campaign for her upcoming album, The Good Noise, on 1st June. If you’d like to sign up for a notification email once it goes live, then click here
