Singer-songwriter Jay Moussa-Mann looks to build on her past successes with her next single, What Makes you Think, a song about a broken down relationship with not just one person but the whole world. The track is filled with melodic vocals, sombre tones and ear pleasing arrangements that draw on Jay’s 90’s American alt-rock influences. It is also accompanied by a nicely shot black and white video, which we’re delighted to be able to give you all an exclusive look at.

Here’s Jay to tell us more about the video…

‘The video was shot in Middlesbrough (my husband filmed it so covid safe) by the quay near Riverside Stadium, that has been my walking place every day for the last 7 years so it felt appropriate for this song. The opening sequence to the video refers to the anxiety I experienced after the first lockdown, where things started to open up again and I personally felt it was too soon. I had expected a few years of no social gatherings. But the pressure of friends, family and colleagues asking me to meet up or have a coffee, feeling bad for saying no, terrified of getting ill again and being often made to feel a coward, left me feeling totally isolated and sent me into a real state. I would switch off my phone all day so I didn’t have to deal with anyone, I couldn’t stop crying. I had to include a nod to that in the video because that is the place the album came from.’
