Holly Rees releases new single Magpie on Friday 8th June, then on Saturday 9th June plays the Cluny 2 stage of Evolution Emerging. We’re delighted to bring you an exclusive look at the new video for the new track which also serves as the first track on upcoming EP Slow Down which will be released on Saturday 11th August.

Directed and produced by Ryan Peebles, the new video is set to whet the appetite for the new EP, as will Rees’ show at The Head Of Steam, Newcastle on Saturday 11th August.

Of the song, Rees said, “The song is kind of about growing up I guess – being in your twenties and not really knowing what you’re doing, and this vulnerable human idea of just wanting to go home, even if you’re not really sure what that means. I feel like the older you get the more pockets of home you scatter all over the place. Ryan came to me with the concept for the music video and I absolutely loved it, and we went back to Weardale where I grew up to get most of the landscape shots you see in the projection in the background, so it feels very honest and true to the song.”

Holly Rees’ Magpie is released on Friday 8th June.
