We get an exclusive look at the video to accompany the synth-pop outfit’s latest release
Newcastle’s synth-pop outfit, Blamire follow up previous release ‘Stay’ with their latest anthemic offering, John. The track talks of looking for a more worthwhile existence in the most eighties-inspired, pop-rock way imaginable, complete with a sparse, poignant start that bursts to life with a driving, synth-fuelled groove, screeching guitar and a soaring vocal.
Alex (the instigator behind Blamire) tells us more about the video that accompanies the track, which we’re delighted to get an exclusive look at…
“John is a song about disillusion with circumstances in your life and searching for a better, more meaningful existence. When we were thinking of the concept it was kind of imagining that ‘late night drive to clear your mind’ vibe. But generally it’s showing darkness building to the point of realisation when the sun comes up.
“The video was shot by myself and our good friend Chunny Parmar (Honorous_Chun) a spoken word/rap artist come videographer. It was shot in the North East primarily using North Shields and Whitley Bay as a base but heading up further North for some of the more scenic shots.”
