Sunderland’s alt-rockers, The Firelight Opera offer us an exclusive listen to their new single, Long Gone ahead of its release on Friday 31st May. It’s a big sounding track that expertly pulls together parts of rock’s various sub-genres and adorned with a cohesive and euphonic lead vocal.

Lee from The Firelight Opera tells us more about the meaning behind the song, “Long Gone is as real as it gets when it comes to writing from the heart. Life gets tough and sometimes you just need that one person to drag you through the days. They’re always there for you, even when you’re inadvertently bringing them down with you. It becomes clear that you can’t survive without them, no matter how strong you’re trying to be.

From a recording perspective, we wanted to express the raw emotion behind the lyrics and we feel like we’ve done that musically and vocally. We’re proud of the track and we hope people can connect with it.”
