Newcastle-formed/Bristol-based indie dream-pop outfit Butterjunk, release their new single Episodes on 15th June. The lyrics discuss “relationship motion sickness” using TV terminology and sonically it’s a big and bright-sounding track with shimmering guitar, atmospheric synths and spacious-sounding rhythms that surround and elevate the impassioned lead vocals.

We’re delighted to be given a sneak peek of the track ahead of its release on Thursday 15th June. Here, the band tells us more about the song…

“Episodes takes on a theme I think everyone can relate to, that at some point, someone or something just feels like a filler episode within the main story of your life. The band haven’t written in this metaphorical sense yet so I guess we are kind of excited to get it out there and see what people think. In the studio, it suddenly became a much more anthemic song than we imagined, but it still captured our 80s to modern-day indie inspirations that make up our sound. The euphoric nature of the song, made the release for festival season seem a no-brainer, so we’re hoping people embrace it as their indie banger this summer.”
