As part of its current exhibition, Habit, Ability! The NewBridge Project presents a free weekend of events on Saturday 20th August and Sunday 21st August, which asks how we can inhabit a damaged planet through sound.
The first Sonic Environments event takes place on Saturday at 12pm (meeting at NewBridge Books, The Shieldfield Centre), where experimental soundmaker, Angharad Davies will take you to an outdoor location to explore natural found objects through sound and then create a composition in a workshop called Improvising with the Environment.
Following that at 3.30pm at The NewBridge Project Gallery Space, The Shieldfield Centre, there will be a rare performance by Welsh violinist and composer, Angharad Davies who will be performing OCCAM XXI, a piece that was composed with water-based soundscape creator Eliane Radigue, who creates work under the collection Occam Ocean.
On Sunday (between 1-3pm) Louise Mackenzie and Tiago will be leading a sensory-walk through Ouseburn called Non-Human Sense! They will invite participants to use senses other than sight to perceive the microbial content of a space.
These events are free and open to all. To book your place, head to the website.
