The iconic British bassist heads to Teesside with his band on Saturday 1st October
One of the founding members of Public Image Limited (PiL) and a man of many talents (e.g. virtuoso bassist, composer, producer, journalist, poet, and author), Jah Wobble takes to the ARC Stockton Stage On Saturday 1st October.
Jah’s notoriously powerful low-end bass created PiL’s debut album Public Image: First Issue, which included their first top 10 single, and Metal Box. Musically, his dub-heavy style weds reggae, jazz, funk, punk, and numerous global folk traditions (including Celtic and Asian music), and he has influenced an entire generation of performers.
Since departing PiL, performs with his band Invaders of the Heart and was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize for his debut album, Rising Above Bedlam.
