Local Bands to Feature in Short Animation Raising Awareness of Invisible Illnesses.
Invisible Manners, is an animated short film written and directed by John Lee Taggart, a Communications and Campaigns Manager from Niemann-Pick UK (a BBC Children in Need supported small charity run from an office in Washington) and with animation from Lingxi. It looks at the similarities shared by those who are affected by an invisible condition (e.g. unseen disabilities, depression, diabetes, etc) and the day-to-day misunderstandings and frustrations that can arise when interacting with others.
Soundtracking the film are Newcastle’s electronic duo Badger who offer a short instrumental version of their track Manchild’s Cat. Also providing musical accompaniment to the film are Sunderland band, Lilliput, who provided their upbeat banger Heavy Clouds (Believe) to be used during the credit sequence at the end of the film.
Badger’s Simeon Soden also worked on the audio for the film drawing together the many voices from across the rare disease community which run alongside the animation, alongside a whole host of famous voices including Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings), Isy Suttie (Peep Show, Shameless, Man Down) and Weruche Opia (I May Destroy You, Bad Education).
The movie is released on Friday 17th December. To watch it, visit the Niemann-Pick UK’s YouTube channel or head to their Facebook page.
