On Friday 27th August, punked up North-East culture mag, Dandelion Scrap Zine will be putting on their debut gig at Little Buildings to showcase a hand-picked selection of the region’s grassroots punk, metal and alternative bands.

The ethos behind the Dandelion stems from the riot girl movement and the representation of women in the music industry, in particular the heavier alt scene. The gig is organised with regards to Safe Gigs for Women, an organisation who spread awareness of instances of sexual harassment and assault at live gigs and all of the bands are inclusive of women and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Alongside being inclusive the gig will also feature purveyors of some of the grittiest, vulgar punk tunes in the Toon. Performing are dark garage-rock trio Star Cult, black metal duo Penance Stare and punk quartet Smuj.

Tickets are £8 ADV and available here.
