Tatwood Puppets presents an evening of gothic delights on Saturday 22nd October
For one night only The Cabaret of Curiosities comes to Newcastle on Saturday 22nd October. This gothic, vaudeville extravaganza by Tatwood Puppets will delight, bemuse and entertain adult audiences this Halloween season.
The show is a dark comedy murder mystery for adults that is told almost exclusively by puppets. It will also be accompanied by live music, with a soundtrack that mixes original music and pop-culture classics performed by Cellist Kerrin Tatman, one of SageGateshead’s current Artists in Residence, and accordionist Rosie Bristow of Newcastle band Holy Moly & the Crackers.
Kerrin Tatman, Co-Artistic Director of Tatwood Puppets, adds, “We are very excited to be performing this adult puppetry show in our home town of Newcastle. The show debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 but we revamped it this summer for Shambala Festival. Some audience members may remember seeing an early version of the show at Alphabetti Theatre a few years back, but we have completely rewritten it and it is now very much for adults only!
“Audiences should expect mysterious puppetry, close-up magic, laughter, wonder and original live music. The show is a perfect alternative Halloween experience for those looking for something different to do this October.”
The Cabaret of Curiosities will be performed for one night only at Newcastle Arts Centre in the underground Black Swan pub. Tickets are available online directly through the Tatwood Puppets website.
