New York space cadets White Hills have been pushing out high grade acid rock for about a decade now but show no sign of slowing down – last year’s excellent Walks For Motorists (described in this magazine as a ‘a whole lot of trippy fun’) was one of their best albums yet.

To accompany some deluxe Thrill Jockey reissues of early albums Heads On Fire and White Hills, the duo are in the UK for a handful of dates in March that bring them to Newcastle’s Head of Steam on Thursday 10th March before an appearance at Manchester’s Cosmosis Festival on a bill that also includes Sleaford Mods, The Cosmic Dead and Wire. It’s live that the band – Dave W and Ego Sensation, as her mum almost certainly doesn’t call her – that White Hills really kill it; their hypnotic, lysergic riffs and space rock momentum achieving an in yr face lift off.

White Hills play Head of Steam, Newcastle on Thursday 10th March.
