New York indie rockers We Are Scientists will play Stockton’s KU Bar on Saturday 13th August. The intimate club show will showcase tracks from all five of their studio albums. With a career stretching back 16 years, the band have gained a cult following that have stuck with them throughout.

Their sound combines noughties indie rock with fuzzy guitar, and it’s all evident on latest album, Helter Seltzer – released in April – which was a huge stylistic development. The more jagged rock tracks of earlier years such as 2005’s Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt are distant memories to the echoey, spinning choruses of We Need a Word from the 2016 release.

Flirting with dainty synths on the new record, We Are Scientists have injected a new lease of life into their indie ballads of yesteryear. Headlights touches on their classic, rampaging sound, but with a more mature and polished finish that will be an exuberant addition to their set list.

The band present themselves in a jaunty and upbeat manner and the two-piece deliver a comedy element while on stage. Tickets for the event are selling fast. Act quickly or you will regret not seeing such an established name in small surroundings.
