Reliably informed

Since the days of a certain Mr John, Watford has and arguably always will have an aura surrounding it when it comes to the music industry, and in folk threesome The Staves they have a group who have managed to carve themselves a thoroughly deserved fan base across the country. The three sisters, better known respectively as Emily, Jessica, and Camilla Staveley-Taylor, have managed to beautifully carve out an evocative folk sound reminiscent of that of a Joni Mitchell, driven by beautiful harmonies defined with a clear poignancy, refreshingly reliant on subtlety as opposed to a boisterous novelty that often comes across with other pop-folk crossover artists.

It is this charm, which has seen the girls become some of the most sought after stars of the alternative music scene, and the release of their eagerly awaited second album If I Was, the trio will be bringing their trademark anthemic intimacy to the North of England for performance. Backed up with able support from 19 year old rising star Flo Morrissey, the night promises to bring you some of the most original, haunting and gorgeous nights of music to reach the region for a long time.

The Staves play at the Sage Gateshead on Friday 6th February.
