The loud-mouthed punk rockers head up a noisy line-up thanks to promoters Confusion is Next
Sometimes what you really need is an evening of the loudest, nastiest punk you can find. If that strikes a chord, praise is due to promoters Confusion Is Next for their line-up at Newcastle’s Head of Steam on Saturday 2nd November. Bristolian five-piece The St. Pierre Snake Invasion are making the long journey up North for a night of loud-mouthed punk rock. Their latest album Caprice Enchanté dented 2019 with its hardcore noise fused with clever lyrics and thrilling riffs, so expect ringing ears the next day if you brave this one.
Among other things, I have respect for their song naming ability: Casanovacaine is an excellent pun, and it’s also a ridiculous, adrenaline-fuelled punk track with a visceral sound. Local lads Ballpeen provide support, with a noisy punk sound that’s been honed and refined through each member’s own experience in the Newcastle music scene, while Tankengine round off the line-up with their uncompromising take on noise rock.
Trying to contain this level of energy in the compact basement of the Head of Steam sounds like a near impossible feat – we’re confident it’ll be a blast!
