Endings can be so bittersweet. For Scottish Queer indie pop punks The Spook School, putting a full stop after this particular venture comes with joy and acceptance rather than leaving a sour taste. Instead, the minds behind the collective have recognised the natural stopping point for this project and, in classic Spook School fashion, are giving it a truly deserving send off at Newcastle’s Cluny 2 on Saturday 31st August.

With eight years, a few records, and any trace of gender conformity and hetero-normativity smashed to smithereens through their upbeat indie tunes, it’s time to bid farewell to Edinburgh’s spookiest music ensemble. Whether you want to reject the rigid robotic social Binary or Burn Masculinity with them one last time, you’ll have your chance to put their memory to rest.

Support comes from bubblegum punks Leggy and indie post-punkers Witching Waves. It should be noted that this gig was originally scheduled to take place at The Cumberland Arms, but due to popular demand the venue capacity needed to be upgraded. All original tickets are still valid.
