Greatest hits, dream teams, selection boxes, people love the best of the best being brought together and that remains the same when it comes to classical music. Luckily for us The Philharmonix – an all-star group of musicians from the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic orchestras – are heading to Sage Gateshead on Tuesday 17 December for a classical cabaret concert with a difference.
Bringing together three members of the Vienna Philharmonic, two Berlin Philharmonic soloists, one of the most versatile Austrian pianists and an improvising and singing violinist. This ensemble will be bringing the North-East their cabaret style programme that allows them to let their hair down and play whatever it is they want to play. Whether it be jazz, classical, Latin, or pop, from Brahms’ Hungarian Dances to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, they’ll play it and play it with pure musical passion.
Tickets are £20.50 and available from Sage Gateshead’s Box Office in person, on 0191 443 4661 or at sagegateshead.com.
