Having previously brought cult punk/post-punk/new wave acts such as Spear Of Destiny, John Otway and Wire to Teesside, Fast Forward Promotions’ latest offering for lovers of punk-ridden sounds comes in the form of The Monochrome Set, who play Stockton’s Georgian Theatre on Friday 30th November.

For those not in the know, the group are originally formed from a band called The B-Sides, which featured New Romantic prince charming Adam Ant. Once Adam left the three remaining members started writing songs that later became the first musical outings for The Monochrome Set, which wasn’t formed until two of the members left Adam And The Ants. Got it? Good.

The band’s avant-garde art-punk sound set them apart from what was going on in the late seventies/early eighties, and early performances were characterised by atmospheric lighting and stage projections courtesy of filmmaker Tony Potts. Having reformed in 2010, and now featuring original member Bid on guitar and vocals, Andy Warren on bass and long-time members JP Moran on keyboards and Mike Urban on drums, they’ve proved to be an influential presence in the history of modern British music. Go celebrate their uniqueness!
