In only a short time, Wylam’s Palace of Arts has become a real hub of entertainment. So perhaps it was only a matter of time before they branched out into the realms of comedy. With their first instalment of The Laughter Surgery, they’re looking to raise more than a chuckle with a killer line-up.

Ben Norris is perhaps best known for his appearances on panel shows Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Mock The Week, but the veteran funnyman has been headlining shows for two decades. His razor sharp wit and acerbic attitude has made him the comedian’s comedian, performing some of the most polished and engaging stand-up around.

He’s joined by The Mimic Men, fresh from their hilarious – and controversial – appearance on Britain’s Got Talent. As their name implies, BBC Newcastle’s Alfie Joey and comic Cal Halbert are masters of impersonation, doing spot on impressions of Robert De Niro, Sir David Attenborough and many others. With two pretty different acts gracing the stage, there’s definitely something at the Palace of Arts to get you chuckling.

The Laughter Surgery comes to Wylam Brewery’s Palace of Arts, Newcastle on Tuesday 2nd August.
